The Together Song

Me trying to stay on beat not the best bear with me here.

The Together Song

Teach me how to sing in Twi,
If by singing we create unity,
My mama used to caution me,
We can all sing together,
But words get lost whenever,
We all talk in unison.
Teach me how to sing in Ga,
So I can tell you my story pa,
Of how my ancestors survived the war,
And I know you,
Can tell me your war stories too,
You can tell me about Yaa Asantewaa,
And I’ll tell you about Araminta Ross,
Together we can compare our loss,
In the casualties of war,
Sing to me an Ewe song,
And maybe, I might sing along,
If we all sing together,
I’ll sing to you the horrors of Babylon,
And you can sing about our mother Alkebulan,
And we’ll be in tune in song
Like birds of a feather,

Teach me how to sing in Twi
If by singing we create unity,
My mother used to caution me,
We go far if we all go together,
Teach me how to sing in Ibo,
As long as our song is we’re the same people,
Teach me a Yoruba song,
Congo, Cameroon, or Brong,
I will listen even if in Fon,
As long as there’s no difference made,
I will sing in San and shade,
I’m down for whatever,
I will sing in Guinea, sheetswa or kru,
As long as its me and you,
And we all sing together,
Koi, Kra, or Swahili too
Teach me how to sing in Twi,
If by singing we create unity,
My mother used to caution me,
We can never stand alone,
Bonded we are strong,
We’re stronger together.
